Executive coaching is a confidential, forward-looking partnership focused on enhancing leadership effectiveness in real work situations. While mentoring and therapy each play valuable roles, coaching is distinct in its purpose and approach. Unlike mentoring, coaching is not advice-based or dependent on the coach’s career path or subject-matter expertise. Rather than focusing on clinical or personal healing, coaching centers on present-day challenges and helps leaders build awareness, strengthen behaviors, and make decisions that support their goals and responsibilities that matter now.
Clients often gain greater clarity, confidence, and leadership impact. Common outcomes include improved decision-making, communication, executive presence, stakeholder relationships, and resilience under pressure. The focus is on intentional behavior change and measurable results - not personality change. Someone who has coaching should expect progress you can feel and others can notice.
This can vary, but coaching always begins with a chemistry call to ensure fit. Engagements can be as little as three months, but typically last six months to one year with sessions held every other week with check-ins in between. Through alignment, goals and success measures are defined early and sessions are structured around real leadership challenges. An interview-based 360 is used to capture feedback and select assessments may be used. The process is tailored, but there’s always a clear direction and accountability.
I work with leaders at all levels with a primary focus on mid- to senior-level leaders, including those stepping into larger roles. Common focus areas include executive presence, strategic thinking, communication and influence, navigating conflict, decision-making under pressure, and leading through ambiguity and change.
Success is defined upfront and tracked through self-reflection, feedback, and observable changes in behavior and outcomes. Confidentiality is foundational. Coaching conversations will always remain private and if there is an organizational sponsor, progress updates are shared only at a high level and by advance agreement. Personal details are never shared.
Yes. Team coaching strengthens overall team effectiveness by improving collaboration across the entire team—not just the leader. Teams work together to enhance decision-making, alignment, and shared accountability, while gaining clarity around purpose, goals, and ways of working. Unlike one-time team-building events, team coaching is an ongoing process that supports real work and drives sustained performance.
